1 · Start the Relay
Install and run the relay program on a Windows PC that is on the
same network as your units.
It runs in the system tray and listens on port 5000.
2 · Get the Pairing Token
Right-click the relay tray icon and choose
Show Pairing Token. You'll enter this on the phone in the next step.
3 · Configure this App
- Open the Settings tab.
- Paste the Relay Token from step 2.
- Tap Save Settings, then Test Relay Connection.
That's it — the connection details are pre-configured. If you ever
need to change them (e.g. LAN-only use via the PC's local address,
or a custom broadcast subnet), they're under
Advanced settings at the bottom of the Relay Configuration card.
4 · Confirm
The badge in the header should turn green and blink
RELAY CONNECTED. You're ready to scan devices and send
reset packets.
Tip: If you open this app directly from the relay itself
(http://<relay-ip>:5000), the Relay URL is configured
automatically.
Troubleshooting: make sure the phone and PC share the same
Wi-Fi / LAN, the relay is running, and the PC firewall allows
port 5000. If the badge shows RELAY BLOCKED, you opened the
app over HTTPS while the relay is HTTP — open the app via the relay
URL itself instead.
What this app does
This app lets you remotely power-cycle (reset) PoE cameras connected
to a — no ladder, no unplugging.
It sends a special network packet that the converter recognizes,
causing it to briefly cut and restore PoE power to the camera.
How a reset works
- Scan the QR code on the converter (or enter its UID
manually). The code carries the unit's serial, unique identifier
(UID), and password.
- When you tap ↯ Send Reset Packet ↯, the phone sends the
request to the relay PC.
- The relay broadcasts a magic packet over UDP
(default port
9) onto the local network, addressed
to the unit's UID and signed with its password.
- The converter detects the packet, verifies the UID and password
match, and power-cycles the PoE port — rebooting the
attached camera.
The phone can't broadcast these packets itself, which is why a small
relay program on a PC inside the network is required.
Relay status badge
● RELAY CONNECTEDRelay reachable — resets will work
● RELAY UNREACHABLEWrong IP, relay not running, or firewall
● RELAY ERRORRelay responded but reported a problem
● RELAY BLOCKEDHTTPS page can't reach HTTP relay — open the app via the relay URL
The badge re-checks
automatically every 30 seconds.
Your data & backups
- Devices, photos, and notes are stored locally on this phone
(IndexedDB) — nothing is sent to the cloud.
- Every save is automatically backed up to the relay PC.
On a new or wiped phone, the app offers to restore that backup.
- You can also Export / Import a JSON backup file manually from
the Settings tab.
Security
- The relay token pairs this phone with the relay; requests
without it are rejected.
- Each unit's password must match before it will reset, so
only packets built from that unit's QR code take effect.
- Device passwords are masked in the app — tap 👁 to reveal.
